Heron Arts showcases solo exhibition Writ Against the Sun from Seattle Based Artist Casey Curran.
This exhibition is a part of the Heron Arts Exhibition Series, which aims to showcase a broad spectrum of contemporary artwork at its SOMA gallery, on now until July 20th.
"Writ Against the Sun" explores humanity’s relationship with technology and the natural world. In his intricate kinetic sculptures, which blend brass wire with blooming laser-cut flowers, Curran questions the impact of technological advancement on our lives and environment.
Director Tova Lobatz guides the programming, working directly with artists as well as partnering with notable outside galleries, curators, and organizations. Located in the heart of our district, Heron Arts was formed with a broad mission to support the arts and culture in San Francisco, aiming to connect artists, audiences, and experiences in various ways.
- Exhibiting contemporary work in the gallery context
- Supporting community engagement with the arts via local programing
- Sponsoring globally relevant cultural productions in San Francisco
SOMA West is proud to sponsor our neighbors who bring in astonishing works from all over the world while establishing roots in the Bay Area. Working closely with Lobatz has opened many channels for SOMA residents to view, discuss, and purchase grandiose pieces of art.
