On Thursday, March 10th, 2022, the SOMA neighborhood showed up in full force to the Silence the Violence March for Peace. The march was organized by United Playaz along with SOMA organizations and businesses. There was a great turnout, and the event sent a strong but positive message, protesting the lack of adequate services and support for the mental health crises on our streets, and standing up to the crimes and tragedies which have been rapidly rising in the neighborhood. Diverse members of the community were invited to speak on their own personal experiences with overcoming homelessness, addiction, and incarceration, showing that with support, change is possible.

SOMA West CBD Executive Director Christian Martin was included in the speakers, expressing his gratitude for the community for showing up as well as the SWCBD ambassadors for improving the cleanliness and safety of the streets of western SOMA.
