Socksgiving 2022

We’re proud of SOMA West CBD Staff Member Pandora for organizing the Socksgiving Event. We would like to express our enormous gratitude to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and the SF Cat Club for hosting the event. Cat Club was extraordinarily generous in donating a percentage of door fees. We want to thank Randy Maupin of the Cat Club and a SOMA West CBD Board Member and neighbor for his partnership and dedication to the neighborhood.
For the second year in a row, Pandora coordinated with the SF Cat Club and The Sisters to help raise funds, collect donations, and receive items from our Amazon Wishlist, which get distributed to our unhoused SOMA West neighbors by our amazing outreach team, led by Hanif Hakeem. Hanif has already started distributing items from the event as temperatures have dropped dramatically in the bay area.
The tally for Socksgiving:
- 580 pairs of socks!
- 80 pairs of gloves
- 30 beanies
- 20 underwear
- Boxes of various hygiene products.
The event occurred at Playland Night at Cat Club, where our Pandora provided a sock puppet-making station and Narcan training.
