Spark your creativity and attend a live painting event with Jane Kim followed by a special whiskey tasting on Saturday, May 29th!

About this event

Spring is in the air! In celebration of her current solo exhibition Poached, Pruned, Peeled at Palette Gallery, Bay Area artist Jane Kim, founder of Ink Dwell studio, will be painting live and talking about her process, inspirations, and the rich narrative behind each piece. Relax in the gallery as you enjoy this thought-provoking show, which seeks to examine our complicated relationship with food, from hunting methods refined over millions of years, to the morality of modern agriculture. The Gallery is free and will be open to the public during the painting portion of the event (12-4pm, no RSVP required).

And to finish off the afternoon, take part in a unique tasting of House of Tamworth Eau de Musc from 4-5pm. This craft spirit features an old-world flavoring technique that uses the oil extract from the castor gland of the North American beaver, which exudes a leathery, raspberry taste, and acts to fortify the whiskey flavors. As told through her painting G.R.A.S., Kim reveals that the “natural” flavorings we’ve grown accustomed to, aren’t always as natural as we would like to think. [This portion of the event is sold out.]

Must be 21+ to participate in the tasting, limit 15 guests. Face coverings required in the Gallery when not drinking.
